I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Meisami’s passing. I met him through my work as Graphic Artist in the School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Illinois. One of the last projects I helped him with was scanning and preparing images of his family for a booklet he was compiling. He was always the most cheerful and pleasant person, greeting you as a long lost friend and truly appreciative of the work done for him. It was my great pleasure to have known him. I know that he will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues and that in itself is a wonderful tribute to this man.
My thoughts and sympathies are with his family at this time.

  2. I met Essie in Berkeley where I was working on campus. He was among the many Persians that I met during my 5 years there but without a doubt one of the nicest human beings I have had the pleasure to know. I cannot remember him other than happy and laughing. Please accept my condolences to the whole family over the loss of this lovely human being. Dale Whiteside

Essie , he was a great human being , trusting friend, and loving cousin. We deeply sympathize with all of you.

  4. Jim and I are so shocked and saddened to hear of Essie’s death. We lived for many years just across the street from Essie and Nooshin in Champaign, and just recently moved to Ohio. They were wonderful neighbors and fellow participants in the Lake Devonshire Yacht Club (a fun neighborhood organization). Our memories of Essie will always include his big smile and helpful attitude. He will be sorely missed by his LDYC friends.
